Our Story

My name is Kristen and my business partner is my daughter, Sloan.

My interest in floral design began when I was growing up on a 100 acre cattle ranch in Northern California. Some of my fondest childhood memories are accompanied by the sweet fragrance of an untamed honey suckle that engulfed my grandparents front porch. From a young age I would spend warm summer days in our fields picking buttercups while daydreaming of becoming a florist with my sister.  

Years later as my young daughter began to grow I became painfully aware that she had no concept of how hard it is to make a buck. I was determined to open a business I could operate with my kids and teach them what it takes to make a living. I started to brainstorm what that idea could look like and was suddenly overwhelmed with memories of my child hood and the sweet smell of my grandmas unruly honeysuckle. In 2019 the idea of Sprouted Roots Flower Farm was born!

As fate would have it, a business that was hatched to teach my children ended up teaching me  about myself. I discovered I need to have my hands in the dirt to truly feel grounded and I’m happiest when creating with flowers and sharing the abundant beauty of nature with others.
